About the Schlesinger Library Dissertation Grants
The Schlesinger Library invites predoctoral scholars whose dissertation research requires use of the library's collections to apply for research support. Grants of $3,000 will be given on a competitive basis. Applicants must have advanced to candidacy in a doctoral program in a relevant field and an approved dissertation topic, and be located at least 60 miles away from Cambridge, MA. Priority will be given to those whose projects require use of materials available only at the Schlesinger Library.
Deadline
Applications must be received by Sunday, January 25, 2026. Awards will be announced in early April 2026, to be used for research at the library from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027.
